The Xinhe-Xinzhuangzi Expressway is a key component of Rongcheng-Wuhai Expressway. It starts from the east bank of Jiaolai River which is located at the junction of Qingdao and Weifang City, via four counties in Qingdao, Weifang, and Dongying. It is also an important component of Shangdong Province’s expressway network.
The 10th section of the 99.35km Xinhe-Xinzhuangzi Expressway is 9.78km long and it starts from K84+200 to K93+980. The total cost is 169 million Yuan. The project mainly consists of 2 big bridges, 1 medium-sized bridge, 2 small bridges, 20 culverts, 1 interchange, 11 aisles, 1 overpass and 1 service zone. The project started on July 18th, 2005 and was completed on June 18th, 2008.
The expressway has fully enclosed bidirectional 4 lanes and its designed driving speed is 120km/h. The road base is 28m wide. The designed load for the bridge culvert is I grade Highway standard. The flood frequency level for the bridge culvert is respectively 1/300 for grand bridge, and 1/1100 for other bridges. The stopping sight distance is 210 meters.
